Meet the family:
"We’re a family of four living in the Pemberton/Bryker Woods area near Pease Park and the Shoal Creek Trail. Both our children are exuberant, joyful, curious, friendly, and comfortable with new caregivers. Mom and Dad work full-time (Dad runs analytics for a streaming company and Mom is an energy attorney), so mornings are busy getting everyone out the door.
In this role, you'll help us get our 4-year-old off to Montessori by 8:15, then spend the morning one-on-one with our 17-month-old. Our hope is that mornings are filled with energy, fun, walks, outside play, and lots of "talks" back-and-forth with his caregiver. Our little one is in a climbing-and-exploring phase, so keeping a close eye on him and gently redirecting is important.
You’ll work in tandem with our wonderful full-time nanny, who has been with us for three years. She’ll arrive by 12:30 each day to take over after picking our 4-year-old up from preschool. When preschool is not in session (June through mid-August), the role expands to caring for both children.
We're looking for someone thoughtful, calm, and loving who will give the kids their full attention and engage them in one-on-one play. Our 4-year-old especially loves make-believe games (“ok, you be the mommy wolf, and I’ll be the baby wolf.”) We value creativity—someone who brings new ideas for art projects and ways to play.
Since we're both at work during your hours, most communication will be via text. We appreciate someone who asks questions when needed but is also self-sufficient and resourceful. We look forward to finding someone who feels like a natural fit with our family and care team."

Meet the family:
"Our family is a busy, loving, and close-knit household that balances full schedules with meaningful time together. During the week, we are often on the go with work and school responsibilities, but we also truly value being home—especially enjoying family movie nights and relaxed time together. Mom works for the local school district and maintains a mostly consistent schedule, while Dad works nights several days a week and may be home during the day to work remotely or rest.
We are a Catholic family and attend church weekly, which plays an important role in shaping our values. Our children share strong bonds and genuinely love one another, though our two older kids occasionally pick at each other as most siblings do.
Our youngest is an active and curious two-year-old who loves music, cars, and playing with blocks. He enjoys exploring the house and opening cabinets, so he needs close supervision as he is quick and eager to discover new things. Our daughter is creative and expressive—she loves making art, trying fun hacks she finds on YouTube, experimenting with new hairstyles, and spending time outdoors. Her favorite color is lavender. Our oldest child is very independent and imaginative, preferring quiet time in his room where he creates clay sculptures and builds items with pipe cleaners.
The older two children have daily chores and age-appropriate responsibilities to help them build important life skills, though reminders—especially for our middle child—are sometimes needed. We encourage all of our children to express themselves and explore their interests while also maintaining firm boundaries, as we believe it’s important for them to enjoy being kids while learning responsibility.
Our youngest has Down syndrome, but we do not limit him because of his diagnosis. We provide him with opportunities to try age-appropriate activities and allow him the space to problem-solve and grow. He is currently working on self-feeding with utensils and is doing very well with a fork. He enjoys puzzles and fine-motor activities. He has dysphagia and receives all liquids through a G-tube while working with a specialized medical team to improve his swallowing. He eats all age-appropriate solid foods by mouth and is a great eater.
Like many families, our kids can be picky eaters, so we make an effort to keep their favorite snacks and meals stocked in the kitchen. Overall, we are a supportive, faith-centered family that values independence, creativity, responsibility, and giving each child the opportunity to grow and thrive in their own unique way."
